There are currently a lot of questions with regards to the hit Canadian high school TV series “Degrassi: Next Class” with many wondering when “Degrassi: Next Class” Season 5 will come out. The show has been lying dormant since 2017 when its fourth season was released and since then, it has stayed under the radar. For fans of this show, relief might come soon in the form of an announcement regarding the next season.
As Business Times notes, Linda Schuyler, the executive producer and creator of the show has previously mentioned that “Degrassi: Next Class” Season 5 is already being written. It would seem that the writers are even working through the sixth season, as well, so there might not be such a huge gap between seasons soon.
This could mean that “Degrassi: Next Class” Season 5 could be announced any day now since it was supposed to have come out in 2018. Everything that anyone knew about it suggested as much and yet it is already 2019. The series is definitely still ongoing and it doesn’t seem to be the case that it is in any danger of getting axed.
As to what fans can expect from “Degrassi: Next Class” Season 5, a lot of it will have to do with new faces coming in and old ones going out. There have been very few details with regards to this particular aspect of the upcoming show, with both the showrunners and the actors being quite hesitant to say anything.
There was even the prospect of Netflix wanting to replace the Canadian actors of the show with some American ones, but there has been scarce development in that area, as well. In any case, “Degrassi: Next Class” Season 5 is still expected to premiere this year and the announcement could come in the next few weeks.
