Donald Trump should be leaving the White House in a few days now since president-elect Joe Biden is already set to be inaugurated on Jan. 20. However, as the POTUS continues to insist that he actually won in the November elections and alleged there was massive voter fraud, it is apparent that he is not willing to vacate his post as the leader of the U.S.
True enough, in a new report, it was revealed that Donald Trump vowed he will fight and do everything to stay in the White House and remain as America’s president. But as time is running out, his desperation to stay is only mounting, and as per the Associated Press, he declared early this week that he would “fight like hell” to continue his presidency.
Trump’s appeal to lawmakers
In the report, the president was said to have pleaded with the Republicans to reverse the election results when they attend the meeting in congress to certify the Electoral College vote. On Monday night’s outdoor rally in Georgia, he shouted his objections to Joe Biden’s win and his loss.
He told the people that Joe Biden will “not gonna take this White House!” His supporters applauded and cheered loudly at his declaration.
In any case, although Donald Trump said that he attended the rally for the mere reason that he wanted to give the Republican Senate candidates a boost in the runoff election, most parts of the POTUS’s speech was about his bitter loss to Biden. He complained and repeated for the nth time that there was cheating because he really “won by a lot.”
The phone conversation with Georgia’s secretary of state
The joint session of congress to authenticate Joe Biden’s win in the Electoral College has been set to take place on Jan. 6. Prior to this meeting, Donald Trump was exposed for allegedly asking the secretary of state Brad Raffensperger to alter the election results in Georgia by “finding” him at least 11,780 votes.
The Washington Post released the audio recording of Trump’s phone call with Raffensperger. In the audio snippet, the president told the secretary of state: "So look, all I want to do is this. I just want to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have because we won the state."
Donald Trump denied that he made such a request from Raffensperger, but the latter responded via tweet that the president is lying and stated that the truth will come out. Meanwhile, a total of 13 Republican lawmakers led by Ted Cruz said that they will object to Joe Biden’s win on this Wednesday's session and it is yet to see what will happen next to their protest.
