In a lot of ways, Elon Musk has been a trailblazer in the tech, auto, and space industries. The CEO of Tesla is basically pushing the envelope in everything he does and he recently promised some upgrades that customers can look forward to. In addition, Musk also expressed a desire to compete with other companies in producing pickup trucks.
As CNBC notes, Musk is an oddity among CEOs because he interacts quite a bit with people. He does this mostly on his Twitter account, where he answers questions, throws out hints, and at times, subtly shoots back against critics. In a recent Tweetfest, the Tesla boss made several revelations as to what customers can expect from the company in the future.
There’s the matter of the upgraded version of Autopilot, which is already the most widely adopted self-driving technology in the consumer market. Musk assured his followers that the second Autopilot is coming and that the technology is currently being thoroughly tested right now. The tech firebrand also said that the results of the test were just blowing him away.
Tesla is also apparently working on upgrades for the navigation system on its cars as well as for its interior and exterior cameras. Musk even agreed to a suggestion that there should be a location alert and updates for its browser.
On that note, one of the biggest promises that Musk made is with regards to an electric pickup truck that Tesla is working on, Forbes reports. Apparently, he is just “dying to build it” and show it to the world. If the company’s past offerings are anything to go by, this could be yet another disruptive development in the auto industry.
This is different from the electric Semi truck that Musk unveiled recently, as well. The CEO said that it might just be a bit bigger than the Ford F-150.
