Emart24, the fastest-growing convenience store chain in South Korea, has expanded the items it sells to include something unusual. The brand will start selling prefabricated houses, making it the first-ever corner store to do so.
The availability of prefabricated homes in Emart24 stores, which are operated by Emart Inc., was made possible through a groundbreaking team-up with YMK Construction. Having prefabricated housing products in a convenience store is a first in the retail industry thus Emart24 is now the pioneer for this.
Available Prefabricated Homes
Emart24 and YMK Construction’s partnership will introduce a range of prefab homes to customers. With this, the convenience store will also present a unique buying experience by providing virtual tours of a 3D model house. Consultations and payment arrangements with a professional will follow after the inspections.
As per The Korea Economic Daily, customers can choose from either single or two-story homes. These come in various sizes - with floor areas ranging from 49.5 to 82.5 square meters.
The prefabricated homes are fully equipped with basic contemporary amenities such as bedrooms, a kitchen, a living room, and a bathroom.
The houses are customizable according to the specifications and preferences of the buyer. Once the deal is completed, customers may expect the installation within two months after payment. However, the time allotted to do the design and securing permits is not included in the 2-month installation time frame.
How to Buy Houses at Emart24
Pulse News reported that buying homes at Emart24 is simple and easy. Customers just need to drop by the convenience store chain’s brick-and-mortar outlets located across the country. They have to fill up and submit application forms by the end of this month.
The customers will receive a Uniform Resource Locator (URL) on their mobile phones to allow them to explore the 3D model house. They can view both the interior and exterior parts of the house.
An expert advisor at Emart24 will then talk to the buyers for consultations and payments. Finally, the modular home is prepared for installation after the payments are made.
“In response to the growing trend of workation or vacationing while working, and the new culture of working in the city for five days and recreating in the countryside on weekends and holidays, we have introduced a prefabricated home product that can be used as a second home,” an official at Emart24 said in a statement.
