If by any chance some fans are still confused, it is confirmed that Maggie (Lauren Cohan) officially left “The Walking Dead” season 9 in episode 5. Her future involvement in “Walking Dead” franchise is still vague but many are considering the possibility of her re-appearance in “Fear the Walking Dead” season 5.
It is being implied that Maggie voluntarily left Hilltop to join a new community. While it may sound far-fetched, one of her options is reuniting with Morgan (Lennie James) circle. Does this mean “Fear the Walking Dead” season 5 could host an epic crossover?
Theories surrounding “Fear the Walking Dead” season 5 suggest that Morgan’s community is one of the most obvious choices for Maggie. Morgan is not as close to her as he was with Rick (Andrew Lincoln). But they have known each other for some time and have fought for the same side in an epic war.
Meanwhile, it is important to note that Lauren Cohan’s real-life reason for leaving the show is due to having a new TV project called “Whiskey Cavalier.” As previously reported, producers and Cohan have implied the big chance of Maggie’s return to the franchise in the future. But whether that happens as soon as “Fear the Walking Dead” season 5 — which is expected to premiere in summer 2019 — is still questionable at the moment.
On the other hand, it was confirmed this week that the cast and crew of “Fear the Walking Dead” season 5 have gone back on set to start filming. Showrunner Ian Goldberg told ComicBook there will be some changes in the filming locations. “We will be exploring different parts of the greater Austin area, and possibly the greater Texas area, as part of the story we're telling,” he revealed.
There are a couple of cast members that have been rumored to reprise their roles in “Fear the Walking Dead” season 5. And in a separate report, ComicBook confirmed that actor Daniel Sharman is returning as the former villain named Troy Otto.
