It has been over a month since the fourth season of “Fuller House” premiered on Netflix. Unfortunately, there is still announcement yet whether the company will order “Fuller House” season 5.
Based on the timing of season 4’s confirmation last year, fans can expect the announcement of “Fuller House” season 5 to happen any moment now. To recap, the second half of season 3 aired on Dec. 22, 2017, and Netflix announced the fourth season in late January 2018. But there were much shorter gaps between the earlier seasons’ premiere dates and the announcement of the show’s renewal.
The first season came out on Feb. 26, 2016 then the second season was confirmed on March 2, 2016. Season 3 was confirmed on Christmas Eve of 2016 — about a couple of weeks from season 2’s release date. As for “Fuller House” season 5, CarterMatt is expecting that the good news might not arrive until the end of this month or early February.
Back in October, there was a rumor that Netflix is not looking forward to having “Fuller House” season 5. A couple of cast members were quick to respond that such report was inaccurate. Netflix also chimed in but only to say that they have not reached a decision. That meant that the future of the show is still hanging in the balance.
Unfortunately, Netflix does not publicize the viewer ratings of its original show. That ultimately makes it hard to predict whether the show is getting canceled or if “Fuller House” season 5 is happening.
What’s not difficult to guess is the storyline for “Fuller House” season 5 if the series is going to be renewed. The biggest surprise in the season 4 finale was Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin) and Jimmy’s (Adam Hagenbuch) engagement that happened shortly after they welcomed their baby.
If Netflix greenlights the making of “Fuller House” season 5, a wedding preparation is likely to be the running storyline. And with the way D.J.’s (Candace Cameron Bure) relationship with Steve (Scott Weinger) is going, who knows, maybe a double wedding ceremony is in order.
