‘Game of Thrones’ season 7 actress Sophie Turner hinted that her character Sansa may betray her own brother in favor of ruling Winterfell for herself. Meanwhile, Alfie Allen’s Theon Greyjoy may undergo a transformation in the incoming season.
According to Metro, Turner hinted that her character Sansa Stark may want to rule Winterfell and get the recognition she deserves. Perhaps, Sansa may get desperate enough to betray her own brother Jon Snow, the new King of the North.
Turner acknowledged Sansa and Jon’s possible powerful pairing saying, “I, personally, as Sophie, think they would be a perfect sort of collaboration because he’s the military man and she’s the politician… Together they’re quite a strong team as long as they listen to each other, and that’s their problem; they don’t quite work well together yet. But on paper it’s perfect.”
The 20-year old English actress continued, “From Sansa’s perspective, she really feels like she would like the recognition that she deserves because at the end of the day, she did save the day at the Battle Of The Bastards… I think she probably would like to be Queen of the North on her own, or again she probably just wants Jon to listen to her, if Jon had listened to her in the beginning then she would be very happy collaborating with him, so it’s just a bit frustrating.”
Fans watched Sansa and Jon reunite in a rare uplifting moment in season 6 after having faced their own personal challenges alone. It would be interesting to see how the pair will overcome differences in ruling Winterfell in the incoming season.
Meanwhile, Alfie Allen also talked about the things in store for his character Theon Greyjoy during the Malta India Fan Convention. Theon was last seen escaping the Iron Islands with his sister Yara and forming an alliance with Daenerys Targaryen as she journeys back to Westeros to reclaim the Iron throne.
According to Express, Allen teased that the incoming season will be “more of the same but better.” He also hinted, “There will be more dragons; more torture!”
Allen’s character evolved significantly through the preceding seasons of HBO’s highly popular fantasy-drama series. Theon was a brother-figure to the Starks before betraying them in order to gain favor with his own father. However, he was captured and tortured by Ramsay Bolton (Iwan Rheon), which left him a mere ghost of his former self – a broken man.
When asked about Theon’s mental state, Allen replied, “[Theon is] skittish and full of fear… and then that can kind of, I guess, evolves into rage, which you might see…who knows?” When asked what would happen if Theon faces Jon again, he answered, “I would say [Theon] would feel horrible. He’d feel awful. And he’s see it as a chance to redeem himself.”
‘Game of Thrones’ season 7 is expected to return on HBO in the US and Sky Atlantic in the UK in summer 2017.
