The clip, originating from a 2020 segment on Friday Night Live with Pete Hegseth on Fox Nation, showcases the former Fox News host detailing his shift from beer to gin. Hegseth, addressing a viewer question, humorously admitted, “Gin is my poison of choice… Although I may have many glasses.” While intended as lighthearted banter, the video has taken on a new context amidst allegations of excessive drinking, including while on the job.
Critics, including Democratic lawmakers and advocacy groups, have cited the video as further evidence of Hegseth’s unsuitability for the Pentagon role.
