Ivanka Trump started her career in politics after she was assigned by her father, Donald Trump, to be one of his senior advisers. Along with her husband, Jared Kushner, she served the president for almost four years.
In January 2021, Donald Trump is set to step down as America’s president, and with his exit, Ivanka Trump’s position in the government will also end. As she leaves the White House with her family, many are wondering if the First Daughter is still planning to continue her political career, and apparently, there are many indications that suggest she has big ambitions in politics.
Ivanka for president in 2024?
Fox News reported that Ivanka Trump may have hinted that she is running in the 2024 presidential elections. She sparked this speculation after posting a tweet on Dec. 29.
On Monday, she seemed to have declared her love for Iowa state when she retweeted a post made by Republican Governor of Iowa Kim Reynolds. The governor’s post that was retweeted by Donald Trump’s daughter reads: "On this day in 1846, President James K. Polk signed a bill making Iowa the 29th state in the Union. Happy Statehood Day to the great State of Iowa, and to all who proudly call her home."
The 39-year-old then captioned her tweet with a heart emoticon and writing Iowa with an exclamation point. Observers said that although her tweet looks so simple, Ivanka Trump may actually be stating her interest to run in the presidential polls.
This is because, since 1972, the Iowa Caucus has been the first and, for most people, the most important electoral test on the road to each party’s presidential nomination. With that, Iowa has become and been known as a king maker.
Donald Trump thinks Ivanka is better than Kamala Harris
Kamala Harris, the vice president-elect, clearly has ambitions to become the first female president of the United States. However, Donald Trump said that his daughter Ivanka Trump will do a better job as president than Harris.
The POTUS openly criticized Harris in one of his campaigns in August by saying she is not the type of woman who should be the very first female president of the country. He then hinted about the possibility for Ivanka to run for office in the future.
"I want to see the first woman president also, but I don't want to see the first woman president get into the position the way Harris would do it,” The Daily Beast quoted the POTUS as saying. “She's not competent." He added, "They're all saying, 'We want Ivanka! and I don't blame them."
