One of the indicators that Amazon Prime Video’s take on “Jack Ryan” has been a success is the streaming platforms visible eagerness to renew the show. Months before its second installment premiered, Amazon already ordered “Jack Ryan” season 3. Many details, however, remain unknown to this day, including the number of episodes to be released.
‘Jack Ryan’ season 3’s possible episode order
Amazon confirmed “Jack Ryan” season 3 back in February 2019, and it should be noted that the second season did not premiere until late October last year. While Amazon has yet to announce the number of episodes to be released for season 3, it is very likely for the show to maintain the pattern used for season 1 and 2.
Both installments had eight episodes that are 40 to more than 60 minutes long. Seasons 1 and 2 also focused on Jack’s (John Krasinski) one main mission that had side stories. The show has been able to flesh out the plot in this episode order, so it is very likely to be the same for “Jack Ryan” season 3.
Those episodes were also filmed in various locations, which is not surprising since Jack is a CIA agent so it is natural for him to deal with international cases. The filming for each season also took more than a year, so it is possible that “Jack Ryan” season 3 will be released with eight episodes again. However, the making of the third installment has likely been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and it is yet to be seen how this will affect the show from production to premiere.
‘Jack Ryan’ season 3 release date
Considering the time it would take to complete “Jack Ryan” season 3’s production and the lack of report that its filming has already started, it is safe to say that there would be no new episodes this year. In that case, this is the first year in the show’s story that would pass by without a new installment.
On the bright side, Krasinski has made a previous suggestion that he could be going back to work for “Jack Ryan” season 3 “soon.” This means, there is a chance for season 3 to premiere sometime in 2021.
