KFC UK & Ireland has named its new marketing director this week. The fried chicken fast-food chain promoted Kate Wall to the role and her appointment is taking effect on Dec. 1.
KFC UK & Ireland said that Wall has been with the company since 2019 and her latest role before the promotion was director of strategy and innovation. Before joining the company, she worked for Mondelēz International for eight years.
During her time at the food manufacturing company, she was in charge of Cadbury’s product innovation. The Grocer UK reported that Wall was credited for her big part in repositioning the Cadbury Dairy Milk brand.
Starting Afresh With New Role at KFC
As she moves to a new position, Wall will be working under Monica Pool, the newly appointed chief marketing officer. Her inclusion in the marketing team will further boost KFC’s already strong female leadership team. Pool was said to have returned to the company this autumn.
According to The Retail Bulletin, the new marketing director will be in charge of all the consumer-facing elements of the chain’s brand. She will also be responsible for the company’s strategic direction, driving sales, growth, and other dealings related to marketing such as KFC’s loyalty program, consumer PR, and customer relationship management.
“Kate’s promotion to marketing director is a testament to her authentic leadership and ability to motivate teams through her infectious energy and incredible commercial acumen,” Pool stated as she welcomed Wall to the team. “We are excited for this next chapter for our marketing team with Kate pushing boundaries, and unleashing unparalleled experiences that will not just connect but will captivate our customers like never before.”
Achieving the Dream Career Role
For her promotion as marketing director at KFC UK & Ireland, Wall said she is honored to be selected for the job. She added that the position is actually her “dream job.” Wall also said she is very happy to work for a team with the most brilliant marketers.
“I am deeply passionate about this brand and am excited to push this amazing business forward,” Wall said. "I am confident that together (with team members), we will launch our much-loved brand into its defining next chapter.”
