Coupang has signed a five-year agreement to take over the South Korean broadcast partnership for Spanish soccer’s La Liga.
The deal kicks in from the start of the 2023/24 season.
The South Korean e-commerce company, will take over the rights from the SPOTV pay-TV network, which has broadcast LaLiga since the 2020/21 season in a deal set to expire at the end of the current campaign.
The Coupang Play subscription streaming service, which also owns the rights to broadcast K-League and South Korean national team games, will broadcast the games.
The recent Coupang Play Series attracted record audiences to the platform, showing the potential to boost subscription numbers for soccer.
