Following the popularity of Prince Harry's “Spare,” which was released in January 2023, Meghan Markle is planning her own explosive memoir. The book provided insight into the royal's life prior to his decision to step down from top roles and relocate to Los Angeles.
Meghan Markle to Reportedly Release Her Own Memoir
Meghan Markle now "fully intends" to write her own book, but it may not be published for a few years, according to royal experts. Rita Panahi, a Sky News Australia host, has subsequently stated that the book will "settle some scores.”

"Meghan is reportedly ready to tell her story in print. Her upcoming memoir will undoubtedly settle some scores from her point of view,” Rita stated, per Express UK. "I have to disagree with this. Meghan does not have a happy ending yet. If you think about Britney Spears' book, she discusses the conservativeship and the climax is, 'I escaped,’” royal commentator Kinsey Schofield said.
"Meghan is made fun of on Family Guy and on South Park, what does she do? She goes to concerts. There is no climax for Meghan Markle that's positive. Her life is still so unwritten so what could she possibly write that would have that happy ending?" she went on.
However, The Sun’s Royal Editor Matt Wilkinson wondered if the “world is ready” for a memoir from Meghan Markle without “falling apart.” "I wouldn't rule it out. You never know what she can deliver in four to five years time if she wanted to. I don't think we'll be seeing an announcement saying that she's bringing out a book,” he told TalkTV.
"Harry's had his say numerous times, Meghan hasn't. Is the world ready? We fell apart when Harry brought out Spare, are we ready for a Meghan book but it could well happen in a few years time,” Matt furthered.
"That's a good point actually, Prince Harry has had his say and Meghan has been stoically very silent. If she does bring out a book, I don't think it will be looked back, I think there's so much more to her,” royal commentator Afua Hagan said.
Meghan Markle, Prince Harry Are ‘Far From Poor’
Meanwhile, a royal expert suggested that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are "far from poor" despite stepping down from royal obligations and King Charles' allowance. According to writer and journalist Esther Krakue, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are now able to afford "three lifetimes" after signing multi-million dollar deals with Spotify and Netflix since arriving to Los Angeles.
"I don't think anyone should worry about the Sussexes being able to finance themselves. That's what happens when you sign there massive multi-million dollar deals with powerhouses like Netflix and Spotify,” Esther told Sky News Australia. "I'm sure they have a way to fund their lifestyles for three lifetimes. to come and we also have to remember that Prince Harry outside of these Hollywood deals is individually wealthy,” she went on.
"Harry as an individual has quite a high net worth and Meghan was a moderately successful actress as well. The reality is that they're far from a poor couple and I think they will be fine for many years,” Esther added.
Meghan Markle reportedly earned $18 million in royalties for the first episode of her Spotify podcast series about female stereotypes. Esther Krakue said the Duke and Duchess of Sussex can now afford "three lifetimes" after striking multi-million dollar partnerships with Spotify and Netflix since moving to Los Angeles.
