Two days after surviving an attempt on his life, former President Donald Trump made his first public appearance at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee on Monday night. The convention was held in Milwaukee. In addition to announcing JD Vance as his vice presidential running mate, Trump just received the official designation of being the Republican nominee for president.
In a peculiar turn of events for the Donald Trump campaign in 2024, one individual was conspicuously absent from Trump's candidacy: Melania Trump, who had previously served as the first lady.
Melania Trump delivered the following statement on Sunday on X, which was formerly known as Twitter, in response to the attempted assassination of her husband:
Melania Trump did not show up for the first day of the Republican National Convention and is not planning to do so. It has been a month since she last made a public appearance, and she has not been active on social media since then. This is just a few days after the former president referred to Milwaukee as "a horrible city," as reported by Newsweek.
Amber Rose lauded Melania Trump, the former first lady, during her speech at the convention on Monday, despite the fact that she was not present. Melania Trump has not yet made a formal appearance in Milwaukee, despite early rumors suggesting that she would be present to witness her husband accept his nomination for president for the third time.
Trump's sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump are slated to deliver speeches during the Republican National Convention. Lara Trump, Trump's daughter-in-law, and Kimberly Guilfoyle, Donald Trump Jr.'s fiancée, are also present. Kimberly Guilfoyle will soon become Trump's daughter-in-law.
It is not clear when Melania Trump will arrive in Milwaukee for the remainder of the Republican National Convention. On night two of the convention, Eric Trump and Tiffany Trump were present when the former president arrived.
On Thursday, the convention's final day, the President's daughter, Ivanka Trump, and her husband, Jared Kushner, are expected to be present. At the moment, Ivanka Trump is not included on the event's keynote speakers roster.
