One of Michelle Obama’s biggest and youngest fans just received a portrait inspired by the former first lady.
During her appearance on “Little Big Shots,” host Melissa McCarthy surprised 4-year-old Parker Curry with her own portrait commissioned by book illustrator Brittany Jackson.
Jackson used a photo of Curry from last Halloween where she dressed as Barack Obama’s wife. The young Michelle fan couldn’t contain her excitement after seeing her own portrait that she told McCarthy that she wants it displayed at the National Gallery.
Curry first made headlines two years ago after a photo of her staring at Michelle’s portrait went viral. Shortly after, the young girl had the chance to meet the former FLOTUS three times.
Two years ago, Michelle even posted a video of herself and Curry dancing via her Twitter account.
“Parker, I’m so glad I had the chance to meet you today (and for the dance party)! Keep on dreaming big for yourself… and maybe one day I’ll proudly look up at a portrait of you,” Michelle captioned the video.
After meeting the former first lady, Curry also managed to released her own storybook, where she detailed her once in a lifetime experience. The book, which was published recently, as illustrated by Jackson and it’s called “Parker Looks Up.”
Meanwhile, Michelle is known for reaching out to her fans, as well as to young girls who need a confidence boost. Last week, she posted a touching video of a young girl who broke down in tears while saying that she’s ugly.
“Ariyonna, you are gorgeous. In a world that sometimes tries to say otherwise, I want to tell you – and every other beautiful, intelligent, brave black girl – just how precious you are. #blackgirlmagic,” she captioned the video.
Fans of Michelle couldn’t help but feel sad over the young girl’s belief that she’s ugly. But they are pleased that the ex-FLOTUS was there to boost her confidence.
“This is heartbreaking! I’m gutted that she feels this way at all, but especially at such a young age. Her mom (or whoever the adult woman is) handled this beautifully! Ariyonna, you are beautiful!” Instagram user @amyblufrog said.
