Another battle royale-themed video game will try to win the hearts of gamers and, this time, the title is being developed by Hi-Rez Studios.

This week marks the release of Hi-Rez’s “Realm Royale” on Steam Early Access. It is obviously one of the many video games that will come out in the near future following the massive success of earlier battle royale-themed titles like Bluehole’s “PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds” and Epic Games’ “Fortnite Battle Royale.”

Reports note that “Realm Royale” was actually Hi-Rez’s “Paladins: Battlegrounds” project. But after the support it has gathered since it was launched in January, the developers decided it deserves to be released as a standalone title. And if gamers are looking to have more variations in their battle royale gaming, trying out “Realm Royale” might not hurt especially since it is free to play.

Like “PUBG” and “Fortnite,” players will have to dive into the map of “Realm Royale” at the beginning of every match. Its animation looks more similar to “Fortnite” but Hi-Rez obviously included more of the fantasy touch to “Realm Royale.”

However, a more unique feature in “Realm Royale” is the ability to choose from the five classes that each has its “own game-changing perks and abilities,” according to developers. These five classes are the Warrior with a shield potion advantage, the Mage with flying powers and fireballs, the Hunter with a perfect aim, the Engineer that strategically drops shield and turrets, and the Assassin with better skills as a sniper.

Meanwhile, if “PUBG” has the shrinking Playzone and “Fortnite” has the eye of the storm, “Realm Royale” players will have to watch out for the “deadly fog.” And note that "Realm Royale" is played in squads of four.

In “PUBG,” players are focused on finding the best positions and spotting enemies as the Playzone shrinks. In “Fortnite,” those same mechanics apply but players are allowed to build structures as their fort of defenses and vantage points. But in “Realm Royale,” players have the option to use the Disenchant feature to prevent their opponents from acquiring top-of-the-line weapons. Within every match, players can also craft weapons and armors from the Shards that will drop from every gear they will destroy.
