Speculation intensifies around Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 6 FE launch as reports diverge on models and release dates. A new leak suggests a budget version may join the lineup, adding to the complexity.
Insights into Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 6 FE Plans: Budget Variant, Model Differences, and Unpacked Event Anticipation
A tipster, Revegnus, relayed this information and posted it on X. According to the source, Samsung is preparing to release its first budget Galaxy Z Fold smartphone. However, no specific name was mentioned.
Samsung is reportedly developing two different Galaxy Z Fold 6 FE models. One will support the S Pen, while the other will not. What other differences will exist between them?
Not including S Pen support may result in a minor price difference, but Samsung will need to cut some corners to make a significant difference. You may recall that an 'Ultra' version of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 FE was rumored. Soon afterward, the "budget" model appeared. According to Android Headlines, the 'budget' model will likely be released rather than the 'ultra' variant.
Will this phone be available simultaneously with the Galaxy Z Fold 6 FE? That makes sense. If so, three foldable smartphones will be unveiled this year during Samsung's second Unpacked event.
In addition to the foldable, Samsung is expected to fully unveil its Galaxy Ring, the first smart ring that Samsung announced. The company did show it off at MWC, but only the design, minor details, and specifics.
Overall, the company's second Unpacked event will be interesting. It is rumored to happen on July 10 this year, earlier than ever. It will reportedly take place in Paris, France.
Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 6 FE Launch Confusion: Reports Differ on Models and Release Timing
The situation surrounding the Galaxy Z Fold 6 FE launch is becoming more complicated. According to a recent report, the vanilla model could launch alongside the 'Ultra' variant. A source claimed that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 FE will be released alongside the vanilla model, replacing the Galaxy Z Fold 6 FE Ultra.
This information is from The Bell, a South Korean publication, and has been reshared by Revegnus, a tipster. It's worth noting that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 FE may not be the final name, and it may not even launch during the second Unpacked event in July.
According to Revegnus, the device could be available later this year. He adds that if the launch does not occur in July, the fourth quarter of 2024 is also an option. That could free up space for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 FE and Galaxy Z Flip 6 and provide Samsung with a new foldable device during the holidays.
It's worth noting that TM Roh, the head of Samsung Mobile, is said to have a "negative perception of budget foldables." That is not a good sign, but it appears that Samsung will release a more affordable "Fold" device.
