“One Piece” Chapter 1098 will continue with Kuma’s flashbacks, however, manga creator Eiichiro Oda apologized for the forthcoming chapter. The Egghead Island chapter has often sidelined Luffy's travels since the manga's Final Saga began last year. The comic enters Kuma's flashback this time, as the Straw Hats fought Admiral Kizaru and Saint Jaygarcia Saturn.
Fans follow his horrific journey from birth to slavery, and how he joined the Revolutionary Army. The flashback in the manga is still going on, so readers might see his life with Bonney and why he became a Pacifista in “One Piece” Chapter 1098.
Why Did Eiichiro Oda Apologize for ‘One Piece’ Chapter 1098?
“One Piece” Chapter 1098 is slated to be released this weekend, but Eiichiro Oda feels compelled to apologize. The chapter is not what one would expect, yet it is a rare occurrence in “One Piece” history, per Dexerto.
“I couldn’t finish drawing in time. Sorry,” a leaker shared a translation of Eiichiro Oda’s message about the forthcoming “One Piece” Chapter 1098. In the same tweet, the leaker also commented on the imminent chapter.
The chapter is 100% readable; it has all the vignettes and texts, but there are some pages that are not 100% drawn. Some vignettes only have the sketch prior to the final drawing (sketches with quite a lot of detail, not like the ones Togashi does in Hunter x Hunter),” the source wrote of “One Piece” Chapter 1098.
“Others have parts of the drawing that are 100% finished, but other parts are sketches, others do not have the shading patterns, some background… It’s a very strange feeling when I see it. Obviously, the perfect version will be published in Volume 108. They are not going to leave it like that,” he went on.
Because Eiichiro Oda will be taking a break from the manga next week, “One Piece” Chapter 1099 will be postponed. His hectic schedule is well-known in the fandom, especially with so much going on in “One Piece” these days.
With the “Gear 5” anime adaptation, Netflix's live-action series, and the manga unraveling major secrets in the Final Saga, 2023 has been a fantastic year for “One Piece.” Furthermore, the fact that Chapter 1097 is only 13 pages long and Chapter 1098 is only 15 pages long confirms the author's hectic schedule.
What Can Fans Expect From the Upcoming ‘One Piece’ Chapter 1098?
ComingSoon.net reported that the imminent “One Piece” Chapter 1098 will cover what happened to Ginny and tackle more details about Bonney and Kuma. Ginny was forced to marry a Celestial Dragon after being kidnapped. Ginny, on the other hand, contracted a severe ailment two years later. Ginny was freed from captivity due to her sickness.
Ginny made one last call to Kuma before passing away. While they were discussing, Kuma discovered Ginny's position and teleported to her. Kuma, however, arrived too late because Ginny had already died. Ginny's baby was next to her, and he, too, was stricken with the dreadful sickness. Jewelry Bonney was the name of this infant.
Kuma raises Bonney, and “One Piece” Chapter 1098 depicts their childhood together. In the final part of the chapter, King Becori causes difficulties and returns to the Sorbet Kingdom. “One Piece” Chapter 1098 will be available in the United States on Sunday, November 19, at 11:00 AM ET / 10:00 AM CT / 8:00 AM PT.
