Pizza Hut is getting into fashion, and as a start, it already released its new streetwear collection last week. The American pizza chain is selling clothing items and merchandise under the label called the Pizza Hut Tastewear line.
This is the company’s very first clothing collection, and it has chosen to feature streetwear. In its exclusive launch last week, Pizza Hut unveiled five items, and they will be sold while supplies last. Thus, customers can have the merchandise for a limited time only.
Foodsided noted that many of the food companies, including the major ones, are expanding their businesses. With this, they seem to be leaning more on fashion and art, and apparently, Pizza Hut is one of those that opted for fashion.
It was added that this happens since food and culture have always been linked to each other. Food companies develop food based on the culture or taste of the people, so their business is more than just about flavor, and this became more apparent with the launch of their new ventures, such as with Pizza Hut.
In any case, the pizza chain giant stated that its “Hut Couture” was designed “to make getting dressed feel more like eating pizza.” The designs are said to be inspired by the restaurant’s famous red roof structure, checkered tablecloth, and Tiffany-style lamps that bring about nostalgia.
"We're so excited to give our biggest fans a chance to show off their pizza love through fun, trending streetwear-inspired pieces that are still classically Pizza Hut," Pizza Hut’s chief marketing officer, Lindsay Morgan, said in a press release. "From the bejeweled pepperoni chain to the classic red cups, our team thoughtfully crafted the details to give fans nationwide a fresh way to show off their Pizza Hut love."
Meanwhile, customers and fans of Pizza Hut can buy one, two, or everything in the Pizza Hut Tastewear line collection. The list of items includes a tracksuit that cost $99.99, a pizza necklace chain that is priced at $19.99, a pair of comfortable slides with the price tag of $24.99, a Tiffany Lamp T-Shirt for $15.99, and finally, a set of red cups for an ice-cold drink which is only $9.99. All of these are available at PizzaHutShop.com.
