Russian stocks closed higher on Saturday, with the MOEX Russia Index climbing 2.35%, driven by gains in Telecoms, Oil & Gas, and Power sectors.
Surgutneftegas PJSC (MCX:SNGS) led the session with a 1.01% rise to 26.04, while TATNEFT Pref (MCX:TATN_p) added 0.67% to 672.70. Moskovskiy Kreditnyi Bank (MCX:CBOM) also saw a 0.64% increase to 10.34.
Among the worst performers, ADS Ozon Holdings (MCX:OZONDR) dropped 0.56% to 3,928.00, followed by VK Company Ltd (MCX:VKCO), which dipped 0.15% to 327.40, and RusHydro PJSC (MCX:HYDR), slipping 0.11% to 0.52.
Market sentiment remained bullish, with rising stocks outnumbering decliners 45 to 5, while three remained unchanged. The Russian Volatility Index (RVI) edged up 0.49% to 49.18, signaling increased market fluctuations.
Commodities also showed strength. Gold Futures (April) climbed 0.33% to $3,001.10 per ounce. Crude oil (April delivery) rose 0.95% to $67.18 per barrel, while Brent oil (May contract) gained 1.00% to $70.58 per barrel.
In currency markets, the Russian ruble strengthened, with USD/RUB falling 0.87% to 85.50, and EUR/RUB dropping 0.62% to 93.01. The US Dollar Index Futures slid 0.13% to 103.71, reflecting a slight decline in dollar strength.
Investors remain optimistic amid energy market resilience and currency stability, keeping Russia's financial markets in focus.
