‘Scream Queens’ season 3 may be up for renewal as hinted by Fox. Meanwhile, Billie Lourd’s co-stars reportedly offered their support following her mother Carrie Fisher and grandmother Debbie Reynold’s sudden deaths last December.

Fox’s Gary Newman and David Madden teased the possibility of a third season for the network’s comedy-horror television series despite a decline in ratings for season 2. During an interview with Variety at the Television Critics Association press tour, Madden said, “It’s very much still in consideration for a renewal… The ratings don’t tell the whole story; because it’s such a young audience, you can’t really even see the full picture even in L+3.”

The executives also announced that they have not made decisions over the network’s other shows, specifically ‘Pitch’ and ‘The Exorcist.’ Newman added, “Like ‘Pitch’ and ‘The Exorcist,’ we’re not going to make any decisions until later this year. Obviously, we would have loved to have seen it do bigger numbers. The delayed viewing is there. It reaches a hard-to-reach younger audience, which we like, but we’re just going to have to see what our needs are when we get closer to May.”

Season 1 was set at a college campus terrorized by the Red Devil, or a multitude of them. Chanel Oberlin (Emma Roberts) and her fellow Chanels ruled the Kappa Kappa Tau Sorority at Wallace University until a serial killer dressed as the Red Devil mascot began killing off their members one by one.

The next season followed the girls and Dean Cathy Munsch (Jamie Lee Curtis) at a hospital setting. There, a new antagonist by the name Green Meanie went on a murderous rampage. The series also starred Lea Michele, Abigail Breslin, Kirstie Alley, Taylor Lautner, Keke Palmer, John Stamos, and Billie Lourd.

According to People.com, Palmer revealed that fellow co-stars have been offering their support for grieving star Billie Lourd following the sudden deaths of her mother Carrie Fisher and grandmother Debbie Reynolds. Fisher, best known for her iconic role as Leia on the ‘Star Wars’ franchise, passed away last December 27, 2017. Her mother, the multi-award winning actress and singer Debbie Reynolds, passed away a day after.

Palmer said, “It’s not even us rallying together, it’s us just rallying to her… She’s needed her space, so it’s just us being patient and waiting.” She continued, “I know Billie very well, and she was very close to her grandmother and her mom. For that to have happened, I can only imagine how she feels… When I think about her situation, I just let her feel.”

‘Scream Queens’ is a comedy-horror television series created for Fox by Bryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan. It premiered last September 2015.
