A Shein shopper was shocked to find their purse made from a COVID testing kit, as chemical tests reveal toxins in AliExpress and Shein products.
Viral TikTok Reveals Unusual Purse Composition
The Sun reports that a SHEIN customer was astounded to discover the alleged composition of their purse. A TikTok user who only goes by @emperkyxxxx said they found the clue after taking the Shein bag apart.
An unusual predicament led the online shopper to take such drastic measures. Their card had somehow become entangled in the black purse, presumably purchased from the fast-fashion behemoth, forcing them to take extreme action.
Upon partially removing the interior lining of the crocodile print accessory, the individual discovered that the miniature purse was constructed from a COVID testing kit.
The video in question has gone viral, garnering over a staggering two million views to date.
The vibrant orange packaging indicated two self-test kits that could be completed at home and yield results within minutes.
''POV: Your card gets stuck in the purse you bought from Shein, so you have to rip it apart and you find out it's made out of a COVID testing kit box.''
Seoul's Findings on Hazardous Children's Accessories
In other news tied to the fashion retailer, the Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on Thursday that AliExpress and Shein have been discovered to sell children's accessories contaminated with excessive amounts of dangerous metals above the authorized levels.
The Korea Conformity Laboratories conducted chemical safety tests on seven available children's AliExpress and Shein products. Two accessories—a children's necklace from AliExpress and a children's watch listed on Shein—contained hazardous chemicals above the acceptable national standards.
The lead concentration in the watch's crown was 278 times that which was permitted, whereas the nickel and chromium concentrations on the rear were 3.4 and 4.4 times, respectively, higher than what was allowed. The lead concentration in the necklace's pendant was 1.2 times that of the industry standard.
Government to Enhance Product Safety Measures
According to The Korea Herald, the city government intends to complete additional testing on children's leather products, including shoes and handbags, by the end of this month.
