There was a lot going on during the belated Valentine’s day episode of The CW’s “Supergirl” Season 2. But the events will lead towards a big storyline (or two).
First up, a teaser photo on Instagram revealed that Lynda Carter will reprise her role as the fictional President of the United States Olivia Marsdin. in an episode directed by Kevin Smith. Screencrush noted the behind-the-scenes photo of the director and Carter, who were hamming up for someone’s camera. Fans of the original Wonder Woman will be glad to know that Carter will no doubt answer “Supergirl” fans who thought that she was an alien in disguise.
Another actor who would not be playing the superhero character he is known for is Dean Cain, who will be returning to the series as Kara Danvers’ (Melissa Benoist) foster father. ComingSoon.net reports that the first trailer for the “Homecoming episode, set to air on February 27, will have Jeremiah’s return plagued by Mon-El’s (Chris Wood) doubts.
“When Jeremiah Danvers (guest star Dean Cain) is rescued from Cadmus, Alex (Chyler Leigh) and Kara (Melissa Benoist) are thrilled to have their father back. The Danvers arrange a family dinner to celebrate but things go awry when a suspicious Mon-El (Chris Wood) starts to question Jeremiah about his sudden return,” the synopsis read.
As for Alex’s relationship with Maggie (Floriana Lima), executive producer Andrew Kreisberg told Entertainment Weekly that a shift in the dynamics would be in the works.
“Alex has been letting Maggie lead the way in the relationship. What starts to happen is, as Alex becomes more comfortable with herself and more comfortable with the relationship, some things happen that make Alex realize that they’re more partners than Alex perhaps thought, where she was like, ‘Well, Maggie’s in charge,'” Kreisberg explains.
