‘The Defenders’ characters Claire Temple and Luke Cage are featured sharing steamy kisses in new set photographs. Meanwhile, Daredevil finally meets Jessica Jones in an unspecified scene.
According to Digital Spy, Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson) and Luke Cage (Mike Colter) look to be getting closer in the new set photographs for the upcoming web television series developed by Netflix. In the photographs, Claire and Luke are locked in passionate kisses.
Claire, a night shift working nurse working at Metro General Hospital, first met Luke and his then girlfriend Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) as she assisted them medically while they battled their enemies. She became his love interest later in the ‘Luke Cage’ series. Season 1’s finale episode set up a blossoming romance between the two characters.
It seems that the new Netflix series will possible follow Claire and Luke together as a couple. In the original comic books, Claire is a doctor, who becomes romantically involved with Luke after helping him with injuries during a street encounter. The two eventually broke up because of Luke's exposure to danger.
Meanwhile, other photographs posted on Coming Soon featured Ritter filming scenes for the upcoming ‘The Defenders’ series with none other than Charlie Cox, who plays Matt Murdock a.k.a. Daredevil. The context of the scene was unclear but the two looked to be having great chemistry sharing smiles and laughter outside a bar.
The new eight-part miniseries will bring together Netflix’s popular superheroes specifically Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Daredevil and Iron Fist. Joining the cast are Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Carrie-Anne Moss as Jeri Hogarth, Eka Darville as Malcolm, Elodie Yung as Elektra, Scott Glenn as Stick, and Jessica Henwick as Colleen Wing.
‘The Defenders’ is scheduled to be released on Netflix sometime in 2017. It was developed by Douglas Petrie and Marco Ramirez and based on the Marvel comic book superheroes of the same name. The series shares continuity with the films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
