It has been revealed that the next installment will cover the Visitor Arc and it gives fans a good indication of what to expect in episode 1.

It is important to note the confirmed story arc for “The Irregular at Magic High School” season 2 because that meant that the anime series is skipping an entire light novel volume. Season 1 concluded with the events from volume 7, but the Visitor Arc does not begin until volume 9.
This decision will unlikely affect the overall anime plot should the series get renewed after “The Irregular at Magic High School” season 2. Volume 8, as the title Recollection Arc suggests, revolves around stories that could be used best as a prequel. This means that the Visitor Arc can be a good point to restart the anime series.

“The Irregular at Magic High School” season 2 will not be released until July. Fans will have plenty of time to catch up on the events from season 1 or even read in advance to see what would happen in Visitor Arc by reading the light novel volumes 9 to 11.
