Top Trump adviser Stephen Miller on Sunday unveiled President-elect Donald Trump’s bold plans for his second term, outlining sweeping policies that aim to reshape immigration, economic, and energy landscapes. Miller, nominated to serve as homeland security adviser and deputy chief of staff for policy, emphasized a “fast track” approach to these reforms during an appearance on Fox News Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo.
Historic Border Reforms Take Center Stage
Miller described the administration’s top priority: unprecedented investment in border security. He revealed plans for Congress to approve a comprehensive funding package that would bolster Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations, provide historic pay raises for agents, and expand infrastructure and technology at the border.
“This will be the largest investment in immigration and border security in American history,” Miller asserted.
According to Miller, Trump will issue executive orders on his first day in office to immediately “seal the border shut” and initiate the “largest deportation operation in American history.” These actions, he claimed, would address what the administration sees as long-standing issues in border enforcement.
“This is something Republicans have talked about for decades,” Miller said. “With Donald Trump, it will happen.”
The funding package also includes resources for military support, additional ICE detention beds, and advanced surveillance technologies.
Economic and Energy Overhauls Promised
Beyond immigration, Miller discussed a comprehensive tax reform package targeting State and Local Deductions (SALT) and corporate tax policies. The reforms aim to incentivize trade and manufacturing while delivering what he called the “greatest tax bill” ever enacted.
“Tax reform will happen. There’s no delay,” Miller assured.
Energy policy is also slated for immediate attention. Trump plans to fully deregulate the energy sector to boost job creation, reduce inflation, and spur economic growth. Miller claimed these measures would deliver a “jolt of job growth” unseen in recent history.
Other proposals include financial deregulation and streamlined manufacturing reforms, which Miller said would stimulate economic recovery.
Public and Political Reaction
The ambitious agenda sparked heated debate on social media:
- @LibertyWatcher: “Historic reforms or historic overreach? Trump’s Day One plan seems like a recipe for chaos. #TrumpAgenda”
- @RedWaveRising: “Stephen Miller lays out a plan that actually puts Americans first. We’re here for it! #Trump2024”
- @ImmigrationAdvocate: “Sealing the border and mass deportations? The human cost of these policies will be catastrophic. #NoBanNoWall”
- @EconomyFirst: “Deregulation may sound great, but unchecked corporate greed is not the solution. #TrumpEconomy”
- @BorderSecurityNow: “Finally, a leader who takes border security seriously. It’s about time! #SecureTheBorder”
- @ConcernedCitizen: “Bold promises, but let’s see if Congress actually delivers on this ambitious agenda. #Trump100Days”
