Planning is underway for an international stabilization force to enter Gaza, according to two senior U.S. advisers. The initiative forms part of President Donald Trump’s 20-point Gaza plan, which prioritizes restoring security and stability in the war-torn Palestinian enclave.
Under the proposal, the United States will contribute up to 200 troops to support the mission, though none will be deployed directly in Gaza. Instead, U.S. personnel will oversee coordination and logistics from nearby locations. The advisers confirmed that around two dozen U.S. troops are already stationed in the region to assist with operational setup.
Discussions are ongoing with countries such as Indonesia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Qatar, and Azerbaijan to contribute to the multinational force. “The goal is to bring together partners who are willing to support peace and stability in Gaza,” one adviser stated.
Tensions between Israeli forces and Hamas militants remain high following recent violence, including the killing of seven men in Gaza City accused by Hamas of collaborating with Israel. In response, U.S. officials are exploring the creation of safe zones for civilians to protect them from further violence.
The advisers emphasized that no Gazans will be forced to leave the enclave. Reconstruction plans will focus on rebuilding areas cleared of Hamas militants. Trump has expressed optimism about Gaza’s future, noting international pledges of investment for the region’s long-term recovery.
Efforts to recover the remains of Israeli hostages continue, though officials warn the process will take time due to debris and unexploded ordnance. The U.S. is also considering offering rewards for information leading to their discovery.
The international stabilization initiative marks a major diplomatic effort aimed at ending violence and laying the groundwork for Gaza’s rebuilding and security recovery.
