Lauren Hunter is a PhD student in the Department of Communication at the University of Maryland. Lauren studies rhetoric and politics. Specifically, she studies the intersections of American political culture, the presidency, and the rhetoric of food politics.
Lauren has worked as a communications consultant in strategic marketing and fundraising for several nonprofits in the DC area. Most notably, she served in the grant writing and research process at Equal Justice Works, a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a just society by mobilizing the next generation of lawyers committed to equal justice. Lauren has co-authored two articles with The Huffington Post on the student debt crisis.
