Shir Shimoni is a second year PhD student in the Department of Culture, Media and Creative Industries at King’s College University of London. Her research explores the question of ageing, subjectivity and cultural representation.
More specifically, drawing on a range of cultural and feminist theorists – alongside thinkers who unpack the operations of neoliberalism from both a theoretical and empirical perspective – her research gives an account of the kinds of messages older women are receiving across various media and cultural sites, as well as the kinds of social policies being developed, which specifically address this population.
