Cynthia Golembeski is a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Health Policy Research Scholar earning a doctorate in urban and social policy at the New School and completing a law degree. She uses mixed methods to analyze how policy, law, ethics, and management operate at the nexus of criminal legal and health systems. Related research focuses on social safety net policies as determinants of health and safety.
She has taught and proctored college-level courses in state prisons, Princeton's School of Public and International Affairs, and The New School Lang Social Science Fellowship program. She serves on the editorial boards of Journal of Correctional Health Care, Public Integrity, World Medical & Health Policy and AJPM Focus.
She is a former USAID Research and Innovation fellow and a Fulbright grantee to South Africa. She has a master's degree in public health from Columbia University and a bachelor's degree from University of California, Berkeley. She is a UC Berkeley Prytanean Honor Society Alumnae board member.
