While Andre Iguodala continues to prepare together with the Miami Heat for the resumption of the NBA 2019-2020 season, his former coach back in 2013 when he was still with the Denver Nuggets, George Karl, has not seemed to move forward as he still continues to talk about "Iggy" allegedly being a mole.
Back in 2013, the Golden State Warriors who were seeded sixth then had knocked out the Denver Nuggets, who was seeded third, in the first round of the Playoffs.
While it was a big deal because the Nuggets that season was the best home team, rumors surfaced that they had planned to "hurt" Stephen Curry.
No less than then Warriors coach, Mark Jackson, had told the media back then that he had information coming from the inside that the Nuggets had plans of "hurting" Curry.
Jackson further went on to say that some people did not agree to the plan that they did not sign up for it, and they had no part in it. And, they just wanted him to know that.
It has long been rumored that by "some people," Jackson was referring to Andre Iguodala.
It didn't help that Iguodala was vocal about how much he likes the way Jackson was coaching the Warriors and that he signed for the Warriors in the offseason.
Seven years later, to now, apparently, Karl has not moved on from that incident. The issue was raised again when he went on The TK Show, Tim Kawakami's podcast.
Karl had alluded to it when he was asked if he had an issue with Iguodala's closeness to the Warriors and later on signing with them.
The coach said he does not know the real story but that there was something fishy going on between Jackson and Iguodala then.
He added that the Nuggets eventually figured out that Iguodala was favoring Jackson.
Karl, however, compensated by saying that Iguodala had played well for the Nuggets in that Playoff series.
Meanwhile, Iguodala has moved on from the Golden State Warriors to the Miami Heat now after being part of the Warriors' five championship run.
Miami Heat’s head coach Erik Spoelstra had said that the team has the highest respect for Andre Iguodala owing to what he has accomplished with the Warriors, including being named as the Finals Most Valuable Player in 2015.
