Former President Barack Obama has not endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for the 2024 presidential race, reportedly due to his belief that she cannot defeat Donald Trump. According to a source close to the Biden family, Obama's reluctance stems from doubts about Harris' competency and electability.

Following President Joe Biden's unexpected resignation from the race and his immediate endorsement of Harris, the Democratic elite swiftly rallied behind her. However, Obama's notable absence from this show of support has raised eyebrows within political circles, as per New York Post.

The Biden family source revealed that Obama is deeply concerned about Harris' ability to win the presidency. Criticisms of Harris’ performance, particularly her handling of border issues and controversial statements about health insurance for migrants, have fueled these concerns. Obama reportedly believes Harris lacks the ability to navigate the complex political landscape and handle the tough questions that lie ahead.

The turning point for Biden came after a disastrous debate performance against Trump in Atlanta, which insiders claim was part of an orchestrated effort to push him out of the race. Despite this maneuvering, doubts remain about Harris' ability to effectively debate Trump, with concerns that she might falter on key issues such as Israel, Palestine, and Ukraine.

While the White House has not commented on these developments, the source indicated that Obama had hoped to replace Biden with a more viable candidate, such as Arizona Senator and former astronaut Mark Kelly. The immediate endorsement of Harris by Biden reportedly came as a shock to Obama and disrupted his plans.

Obama’s frustration with the current situation is evident, and his decision to withhold an endorsement reflects his dissatisfaction. Another Democratic insider suggested that Obama’s surprise at Biden’s political move underscores his limited perspective on politics, often driven by personal interests.

Rod Blagojevich, the disgraced former governor of Illinois, also weighed in, suggesting that Obama played a crucial role in orchestrating Biden's exit from the race. Blagojevich, who now supports Trump, described Obama as the key figure behind Biden's decision to step aside, likening him to a "Chicago ward boss" exerting control from behind the scenes.

The strained relationship between Obama and Biden has historical roots. Obama previously persuaded Biden not to run for the presidency in 2016, favoring Hillary Clinton as the Democratic candidate. Biden later expressed frustration with Obama's lack of support during that period.

As the Democratic National Convention approaches, the internal party dynamics and Obama’s influence remain focal points. The uncertainty surrounding Harris' candidacy and Obama's reluctance to endorse her add complexity to the Democratic Party's strategy for the upcoming election.

The political landscape continues to evolve, with Harris' supporters hoping she can overcome these challenges and prove her detractors wrong. Meanwhile, Obama's next move remains a subject of intense speculation as the 2024 presidential race heats up.
