Prior to becoming a White House adviser, and before her father’s ascent into the presidency, Ivanka Trump was a known fixture in her father’s reality show, The Apprentice. Actress Vivica A. Fox recently recalled a moment when Ms. Trump made a “racial insult” towards her in the show back in 2015.
In an interview with Andy Cohen, Fox recalled the time she filmed Celebrity Apprentice back in 2015, where the former president’s daughter thought she complimented her only to come across as the opposite. Fox recalled that Ms. Trump told her that she spoke very well and shared that Ms. Trump likely did not know she was actually insulting her rather than complimenting her.
“I will never forget that when I did Celebrity Apprentice and Ivanka Trump, she said ‘Wow you speak very well’” recalled Fox. “You know, Andy, I hate to say it, I don’t think she knew at the time she was insulting us. I think at the time she thought she was complimenting us.”
The actress went on to explain how that moment went viral on social media, with many users wondering what Ms. Trump meant by her comment. Cohen later questioned how the moment made its way through the production without the producers noticing.
Allegations of racism on the Trumps’ reality show resurfaced in 2019 of an interview the former president had in 2005. At the time, Trump suggested the concept of racially dividing the contestants on the show.
Meanwhile, Ms. Trump received a lot of backlash once again from supporters of her father. The former White House adviser previously broke her social media hiatus to share a photo of herself getting vaccinated. The photo was met with backlash from her father’s supporters and it continues to this day.
Ms. Trump recently shared another photo of herself receiving her second jab of the COVID-19 vaccine on Twitter. The former first daughter also encouraged others to get vaccinated as well.
“This afternoon, I gratefully received my second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Getting fully vaccinated is the best way to end this pandemic and protect ourselves and one another,” tweeted Ms. Trump.
