US President Joe Biden issued another ominous warning about Russia’s continued assault on Ukraine. Biden said this week that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin may be considering resorting to biological and chemical weapons in the war.
In a meeting with business leaders in Washington Monday, Biden said that Putin is considering resorting to biological and chemical warfare in order to win the conflict. The US leader warned that should it happen, Washington would issue a severe response.
“His back is against the wall,” said Biden, who added that Russia previously accused the US of holding chemical and biological weapon labs in Europe. “Simply not true, I guarantee you.”
“They are also suggesting that Ukraine has biological and chemical weapons in Ukraine. That’s a clear sign he’s considering using both of those,” Biden continued, adding that the Russian dictator is aware that by resorting to biological and chemical weapons, Russia will face a severe response from NATO. The US leader did not specify what kind of actions the alliance would take should it occur.
Biden’s comments echo the previous response given by the administration and other Western officials regarding the allegations made by Russia against them. White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki tweeted that the world should be prepared to see Russia use such weapons on Ukraine or staging a false flag operation with such kinds of weapons.
In other related news, lawyers for Conservative group Project Veritas claimed that the Justice Department secretly accessed the email addresses of the group’s employees behind the federal judge’s back. This claim is part of a larger legal battle against the DOJ linked to the theft of the diary of Biden’s daughter Ashley Biden.
Project Veritas obtained Ms. Biden’s diary during the 2020 elections but ultimately did not publish its contents, according to the group’s lawyers. The group is known for conducting sting operations to catch Democratic operatives and lawmakers revealing embarrassing information. DOJ prosecutors argued that conduct related to stolen property is not protected under law.
The FBI searched an apartment owned by Project Veritas founder James O’Keefe for evidence of theft of Ms. Biden’s diary. The group fought the search warrants in court, citing that the search would put a lot of attorney-client privileged material at risk, along with materials protected under the First Amendment and confidential donor information.
