United States First Lady Melania Trump is known for keeping mum about her personal life, but many outside her circle have shed some light into who she is. Recently, author Doug Wead has revealed a side of Melania’s life that may have prepared her for the job as FLOTUS.
Express reports that one chapter of Wead’s book titled “Inside Trump’s White House,” reveals what Melania may have gone through that would make her who she is today. The chapter, titled “Melania’s Revenge” revealed some details about what may have been her life back in her home country of Slovenia. Once part of Yugoslavia, and once a communist country, Wead visited the capital, Ljubljana a few times as part of his research. Wead concluded that the First Lady’s early life in a totalitarian country may have helped her prepare for her role as First Lady of the United States.
On the other hand, it was living in Slovenia that gave Melania a different view of America, different from all her predecessors. According to Wead, Melania thought that the United States was the so-called “Land of Opportunity,” or the place where dreams could come true. Wead goes on to say that Melania saw the country where she would eventually become the First Lady of, as a place where anything was possible.
One of Wead’s sources for his book was Melania’s daughter-in-law, Lara Trump. As he interviewed her, she revealed that Melania is very smart, even going on to say that she is not being given enough credit. “When you look at past First Ladies, there is a totally different standard...The media criticism is so overdone that actually backfires,” Explains Lara.
In one part of Wead’s book, it reveals that President Donald Trump will try to ease the tension by teasing Melania when she is having a hard time. Lara also explains that it is a regular joke between the two of them. Lara also recalled how Melania was very consistent about Donald winning the 2016 election. She recalled how Donald asked her for her thoughts about him running for President, to which she simply replied that if he is going to run, then he will win.
