First Lady Melania Trump is mostly known for tending to matters within the White House, including making the place into her own while her husband Donald Trump is in office. Her latest update has netizens pointing out a detail regarding her improvements.
Politicalflare reports that the First Lady shared some photos on Twitter via the White House account of the newly renovated White House Bowling Alley. She invited the kids of the secret service members to play a few games. The bowling alley was first installed into the White House by Richard Nixon and has since been a feature of the White House, used by the first families and their friends. The last time it was renovated was in 1994, during the Clinton administration. The renovation of the bowling alley was sponsored by the Bowling Proprietors Association of America.
Melania had the original wooden lane restored and improved the electrical wiring and interiors of the room. One particular photo showed the bowling balls for the White House bowling alley, with the silhouette of the White House and above it was written “The President’s House,” which many users on Twitter were quick to point out and comment on. David Gura tweeted that historically, the White House is known as “The People’s House” as the public pays for maintaining the house with the taxes.
Another commented, “I’m just surprised it’s not in gold leaf with “Trump’s House” on it,” referencing Melania’s husband Donald’s liking for opulent, gold interiors. Others said, “I’m just surprised it didn’t say Trump” and “It’s not the president’s house even though he thinks it is. Has he forgotten that he’s just a glorified temp?”
The First Lady will be active on the campaign trail this year for Donald’s re-election campaign for the 2020 elections. This would be Melania’s first time being very present to the voters as she is known for being a very private person. The First Lady is set to host two fundraisers in both the Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida and in Beverly Hills in March. Both fundraisers will benefit the Trump Victory Fund, which in turn benefits both the Trump 2020 campaign and the Republican Party.
