“Mom” season 7’s renewal is already being talked about since the sixth installment is set to conclude this month. So, will CBS order another season for the show?
“Mom” season 7 is likely to be renewed since it was reported that the show has good ratings and viewership record. It is the third most-watched comedy sitcom on CBS and it could move one step higher once “The Big Bang Theory” finished its finale run. Since most TV networks decide whether to cancel a show or not based on its rating, then this record means that “Mom” season 7 is likely to be renewed.
Also, CBS’ president for entertainment seems to verify that the comedy sitcom is one of those shows that should continue when Country Living quoted her as saying last year, “Mom has been a lynchpin comedy for us over the last several years. It’s a fearless series that tackles provocative social issues with laughter and grace, and a large, loyal audience has followed.”
She added, “With gifted talents like Anna and Allison leading a great ensemble cast, and a production team headed by Chuck Lorre, Eddie Gorodetsky, Nick Bakay and Gemma Baker, this series just keeps getting better.”
Moreover, it appears that “Mom” season 7’s renewal is going to be announced soon because Warner Bros. already reached out to Anna Faris and Allison Janney to offer them new deals. According to Deadline, the two actresses requested for salary increase so all the involved parties are trying to negotiate to come up with a good deal that is acceptable for everyone.
Once renewed and the deals are approved, “Mom” season 7 is likely to bring back its key actors that include Anna Faris (Cristy), Allison Janney (Bonni), Jaime Pressly (Jill Kendall), Mimi Kennedy (Marjorie Armstrong), Beth Hall (Wendy Harris) and William Fichtner (Adam Janikowski). While we wait for renewal announcement, watch out for season 6’s finale by the end of this month.
