“X Games has long-been the leader of showcasing world-class action sports,” said Matt Escalante, Senior Brand Marketing Director for Pacifico. “And Pacifico has always been the beer for those with an independent spirit, so we’re excited to partner with an event that features athletes who embody that same spirit.”
“It’s always exciting to bring new brands into the X Games fold,” said Rob Temple, SVP of ESPN Sports Marketing. “X Games fans are passionate and Pacifico’s entitlement of the Moto X Freestyle event will provide great exposure within a high energy venue.”
Pacifico, is a golden-hued, crisp, Pilsner-style lager, originally born in the Baja region of Mexico. The brand has recently experienced major growth in the U.S. with double digit growth over the last five years, and is currently the 3rd fastest-growing brand in the U.S. beer category1.
The X Games sponsorship builds on the brand’s connection with action sports competitions in the country, including its sponsorship of the Burton U.S. Open for the last 5 years.
In 2017, Pacifico launched its first-ever 12 oz. can to the U.S. market – a format perfect for the adventure-seeker on the go, as well as an expanded TV advertising campaign in eight states. The brand is gearing-up for a national marketing launch for Pacifico in spring of 2018.
About Pacifico
Pacifico, a golden-hued, crisp, Pilsner-style lager, was first brewed in Mazatlán, Mexico, in the early 1900’s and was introduced to the U.S. by surfers who were visiting Baja in the 1970’s in search of the perfect wave. What they found in Mexico was even better – the perfect beer. They brought cases of Pacifico back to the U.S., and it’s been a favorite beer amongst surfers and adventurer-seekers ever since. Pacifico stands for a life that is measured in discoveries, not days.
Pacifico has been growing double-digits for the last five years in the U.S., and is currently the 3rd fastest-growing beer in the market1.
Pacifico is exclusively imported and marketed by Constellation Brands for the U.S. market.
