“Supernatural” has been on the air for more than a decade now that fans are still likely wondering how a long-running series could have an absolutely conclusive ending. Unfortunately, the death of its main protagonists in “Supernatural” season 15 might be one of the most effective ways to go.
After ending season 14 on a very epic note, the leading cast members of the show confirmed that they will return for “Supernatural” season 15, although it is going to be their final season as well. Now that that is out of the bag, the actors are now freely discussing how they think the show can end.
During The CW's upfront event a few weeks ago, Misha Collins told TV Guide, “I hate to say this but I kind of hope that the main characters on the show die at the end. I feel like we need that finality.” Collins will reprise his role as Castiel in “Supernatural” season 15.
Jared Padalecki, who plays the other half of the Winchester brother duo named Sam, is open to the possibility of their characters dying at some point of “Supernatural” season 15. “If they do die, I want them to die going out doing something they love that will make the world a better place,” the actor told the same publication.
He further supported this possible plot saying, “Part of me thinks that's the only way to end ‘Supernatural.’” However, he also said in the same interview that he does not think the “Supernatural” season 15 ending is already set in stone.
How things ended in season 14 made it possible for “Supernatural” season 15 to go with a plot that has never been done before in the history of the show. To recap, Chuck a.k.a. God (Rob Benedict) opened the gates of Hell for real while making sure Sam, Castiel, and Dean (Jensen Ackles) practically have no chance of reversing it. The show will end on with 20-episode installment anticipated to be released this fall.
