Many things have happened since the full release of “Warcraft 3: Reforged” in January. However, it does not seem like Blizzard’s post-launch efforts have been enough to fix the game. With that, many gamers have resorted to stop playing the game and want to get a refund.
‘Warcraft 3: Reforged’: Can players get a refund after accessing the game?
Blizzard’s Battle.net, like most video game distributors, has very specific rules on allowing refunds. But grievances have been piling up online regarding the quality of the game, and it may have pushed Blizzard to loosen up its own rules on handing out refunds specifically for “Warcraft 3: Reforged” players.
Battle.net has even put up a designated article titled “Refunds for ‘Warcraft 3: Reforged’” on its support page. Its opening statement might not convince some fans, though, as it reads, “Blizzard stands by the quality of our products and our services.”
The page then reiterates that Blizzard typically considers the time of purchase and hours played for games for which a refund is being requested. “However, we want to give players the option of a refund if they feel that ‘Warcraft III: Reforged’ does not provide the experience they wanted,” Battle.net added.
This should mean that anyone who wants to refund their money from “Warcraft 3: Reforged” will be accommodated supposedly without questions asked. Battle.net notes though that this service will only be up “for the time being.” To initiate a refund request, players can start by following the instructions on this link.
Very shortly after the full version of “Warcraft 3: Reforged” was released, several players took to Reddit to share their experiences in requesting refunds. Some from different regions confirmed that even when they pre-purchased the game back in 2018 or 2019 and have played it for a few hours, their refund requests were still granted.
‘Warcraft 3: Reforged’ issues lead to underwhelming user score and reviews
To say that the release of “Warcraft 3: Reforged” was an underwhelming start to Blizzard’s 2020 would be an understatement. After more than two months, the game’s Metacritic user score is at 0.6 out of 10 based on 29,590. While critics have been more forgiving, most of the reviews aggregated by Metacritic also give the game a mixed rating score of 59 out of 100 with only two positive reviews out of 45.
