First lady Melania Trump’s marriage to her husband Donald Trump is constantly scrutinized especially as they are known not to be especially affectionate in public. A body language expert has since analyzed the first lady’s movements and revealed that she may be seen as someone the president needs with him.
Body language expert Judi James analyzed Melania’s recent appearances alongside her husband, the first lady having joined the campaign trail during the final few weeks leading up to the election. In photos, Melania is often seen standing at the side or behind her husband during political or White House events.
“Melania’s signals with Donald suggest family support rather than emphatically political or business fan-girl behaviors,” explained James. “Compare her rituals to those adoring, hugging congratulatory rituals from Biden’s wife after the first presidential debate we can see none of the normal over-played besotted signals from Melania but a woman OK to stand quietly alongside her husband using quite similar body language to suggest husband-wife teaming.”
James also noted that Melania and Donald have had trouble showing affection in public in the past but as of late have become more comfortable. The expert also suggested that despite her husband’s constant show of “toughness,” Melania is seen as someone he needs by his side, especially behind the scenes. The first lady’s often straight face has made their relationship difficult to read, according to James, however, she says it may be something that she has taken from her years as a fashion model.
Meanwhile, the first lady previously traveled to Florida to cast her vote in person on Election Day. Melania voted in Palm Beach County where she is registered and the local media spotted her arriving at the Morton and Barbara Mandel Recreation Center. The first lady was not wearing a face mask but the security that was with her were all wearing face coverings.
After casting her vote, Melania briefly greeted the media that were present, posing for photos and spoke to the reporters. When pressed on why she did not vote early like her husband, Melania replied that because it was Election Day, she will vote on the day itself.
