First lady Melania Trump’s post-White House life with her son Barron Trump and outgoing president Donald Trump has been highly speculated. Fueling the reports of possibly relocating to Florida in 2021, Melania was also seen touring a private school in the state where she may enroll Barron in.
Melania was recently spotted on a tour of Pine Crest School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. According to people familiar with the matter, the school also happens to be a 40-minute trip from the Trumps’ Florida residence, the Mar-a-Lago resort. Contrary to her husband’s insistence on having gained a second term in office, Melania has already been preparing for their imminent departure from the White House. The Trumps have previously been reported to have changed their official address from New York to Florida, and have also voted there during their visits. They would be settling down at the private resort full-time once Joe Biden and his family move into the White House.
Thus, it is expected that Barron would be withdrawn from finishing the year at St. Andrew’s Episcopal School in Maryland and would be transferring to a school in Florida instead. Pine Crest is also said to have a $35,150 a year tuition fee. Barron will remain in ninth grade when he transfers to the school, whose notable alumni include Ariana Grande, Kelsey Grammer, and Bethenny Frankel.
Aside from touring possible schools for her son, Melania is also said to already be taking note of what to pack for their respective homes in New York and Florida.
It is not just Melania and Barron that will likely be settling down in Florida full-time when they leave Washington DC. Donald Trump’s eldest daughter and White House adviser Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner and their family are reportedly going to settle in the state as well. The couple purchased a plot of land in Miami, in the very private neighborhood of Indian Creek, also known as “billionaire’s bunker” because of the high-profile residents.
People familiar with the matter revealed that the move to Florida may also bring political opportunities for Ms. Trump, who might be keen on pursuing a political career.
