NBC just teased The Blacklist season 8 after including the show in its 2020 fall schedule which it just announced.
While many are excited to see the next instalment of the series, many are also wondering how NBC will be able to pull off The Blacklist season 8.
This because the show is a New York production, one of the hardest hit US state by the coronavirus disease (CoVid-19). The state not only records the highest number of CoVid-19 cases, it also records the highest number of deaths.
And, while California has already allowed the resumption of film and TV production last June 12, New York City has yet to allow the opening of its industries.
It can be noted though that while NBC included The Blacklist on its fall schedule, it did not announced a premiere date.
Assuming that they could start production by July, they could at least do in a few episodes before airdate which could either be late September or October or as late as early November. Afterall, those months are still under the fall season.
Besides, we should not forget how they crafted the season 7 finale. They used animation to wrap-up the season finale. They were not able to finish production as quarantines were already implemented due to the CoVid-19.
Perhaps we may see a few more hybrid episodes much like the finale.
Whichever it may be, fans will still be looking forward to more story unraveling about Red and Liz.
NBC will definitely bring back The Blacklist's core cast, that is James Spader who plays Raymond Red Reddington and Megan Boone as Elizabeth Keen. Also, sure to be back are Diego Klattenhoff (Donald Ressler) and Harry Lennix (Harold Cooper).
As for Laila Robins who played the role of Katarina Rostova, it is yet unsure if she will be back in season 8, although being season 7's main antagonist, there is a big possibility that she might. But, with the several plot twists that The Blacklist has been dishing for us, we'd never know for sure until NBC announces it.
