Naver, South Korea’s premier online search platform, is reportedly planning to infiltrate the global market this year. The company revealed it is now ready to enter a bigger market and make its presence known in the world of IT business.
Naver’s plan since it was founded
As per The Korea Times, since Naver was launched in 1999, it has been the company’s goal to go international. It has been aiming to be recognized globally for almost 22 years, and the time to work on its plan has finally come.
To attain its goal for 2021 and make a successful entrance into the global stage, Naver stated that it will do everything to offer the best service innovation and technology. For the company’s development, they will work around the four key ideas, which include global, technology, small and medium enterprise, and creation.
Naver has many products and innovations, but it was said that it is planning to go global with a focus on its webtoon business and live streaming platform. In fact, the firm disclosed that they are getting ready to enter the webtoon market in the U.S. soon.
But while webtoon is becoming more popular, there is no question that the company’s live streaming platform, V Live, is more likely to bring Naver’s name on the map. One of the reasons for this is because the platform is often used by Kpop stars like BTS. It was reported that to date, V Live has been downloaded on mobile devices by 100 million people worldwide.
Moreover, V Live is also being used as a place for Kpop artists to hold their online concerts. As performances are staged here, more and more people are opting for V Live’s paid services.
About Naver
Naver already registered about 25 million users in the United States. As of June 2020, it has more than 600 million users, including those in the U.S. It ranks 9th in Forbes’ most innovative company and Fortune’s no. 6 in its best 50 companies’ list last year.
It has been working on its “going global” project in recent years, and last year, it turned to Bright Pattern, an American company and leading provider of AI-powered omnichannel cloud contact center software.
"Bright Pattern has been selected by many of the world's most innovative brands and has a huge global innovator, Naver, using Bright Pattern for its mobile-first strategy," Ted Hunting, Senior Marketing VP at Bright Pattern, said via press release. "Bright Pattern and Naver have a common focus on mobile and digital-first innovative cloud technology including social messengers such as LINE. Our ability to provide a complete omnichannel cloud platform makes us a perfect strategic fit to help them realize their contact center vision."
