Marvel Studios released new character posters for the highly-anticipated Hollywood film "The Marvels" via its official Twitter account, including the character of Hallyu star Park Seo Joon. It has been revealed that the "Parasite" actor will portray Prince Yan, who winds up marrying Carol Danvers, played by Brie Larson, in the original comics.
Seo Joon is making his big screen debut after only one "Captain Marvel" book appearance. Other stars appearing in the upcoming sequel include Samuel L. Jackson, Teyonah Parris, Iman Vellani and Brie Larson.
What Are The Abilities Of Park Seo Joon's Character?
As far as we know, Prince Yan possesses no superpowers. Not in the comics, at least. However, the character of Park Seo Joon, like everyone else on his planet, can always speak and carry on a whole discussion entirely in rhyme. They all essentially speak musically.
Will Prince Yan Marry Captain Marvel?
Carol Danvers was allowed to marry Prince Yan, but she declined. She let the Prince pick his consort, or, more accurately, the consort chose him. In the comics, Carol is not married to the Prince and is not a secret extraterrestrial royalty, but that doesn't stop him from flirting with her.
Will Park Seo Joon's Character Differ From His Comic Counterpart?
We don't know how Park Seo Joon's Prince Yan will differ from the comic book version. We don't believe Lila Cheney is in this film; therefore, that portion of his comic book tale is unlikely to be realized. He also lacks the Davie Bowie-esque lightning bolt image over his eye. In this film, he feels like a warrior prince, something Prince Yan in 616 World was not, or didn't appear to be.
"The Marvels" is scheduled to hit theaters on Nov. 10, 2023 in the United States.
