Starbucks opens interactive Coffee Experience Center in Bali

Starbucks Indonesia launches a Coffee Experience Center in Bali, and it was set up at the coffee chain’s Dewata Coffee Sanctuary location. This is the latest project in the company’s series of interactive experiences to celebrate the country’s rich coffee culture.

As per Inside Retail, the new Starbucks Coffee Experience Center will show the “seed-to-cup” journey of the brand’s favorite beverages. Customers will get a glimpse of how the company brings coffee to its stores, starting from sourcing, roasting, brewing, then finally serving them on tables.

People can explore what they want to know about coffee when they visit this new interactive experience center. It was noted that the opening of the center also coincides with the coffee chain’s 20th anniversary in Indonesia.

The Starbucks Coffee Experience Center in Bali is housed in a spacious area. The interior has touches of Balinese design inspirations and the materials used are the same ones that were installed on Starbucks Dewata Coffee Sanctuary such as the terrazzo flooring and terracotta brickwork.

At the center, visitors can try their hand at coffee bean de-pulping at the Arabica coffee farm. They can also wash, dry, and rake green coffee beans. People can also see budding seedlings that are kept in the nursery located on the second floor then feast their eyes on the Indonesian art and Balinese craft that decorates the interiors.

“This year marks 20 years of Starbucks retail presence in Indonesia,” Starbucks leader at PT Sari Coffee Indonesia, Anthony McEvoy, said in a blog post. “We are very proud that we are making another milestone here by opening the Dewata Coffee Experience Center, serving a range of Starbucks coffees, all locally grown, sourced, and roasted coffee exclusively in Indonesia, starting with coffee from the Aceh region. The Dewata Coffee Experience Center amplifies our leadership and passion for coffee, as well as our commitment to the country’s rich coffee culture.”

Finally, Retail Asia News mentioned that with the launch of the coffee experience center, Starbucks is also paying tribute to the crucial role that Indonesia plays in bringing high-quality Starbucks beverages to customers. The country is currently the fourth largest Arabica coffee-growing region in the world and the only producer of Sumatra coffee which has been a staple at the stores since 1971.
